Selfbase

Integration

Instagram

Instagram is a Grow channel. Connecting your professional account lets the agent draft feed posts and carousels, and publish the ones you approve.

Not connectable yet. Instagram cannot be connected yet. The integration is built and the row switches on once our Meta app is live.

What it does

  • Reads your account, so the Connection names the profile it is linked to.
  • Publishes a feed post or carousel that you approved. Images first, video later.
  • Reads results back for the posts it published.
  • Sets the is_ai_generated flag on anything the agent made.
  • Publishes only a post you approved. The agent never publishes on its own.

Connecting

Open Workspace settings, then Connections, and choose Instagram. Instagram opens in a browser window for you to approve, and Selfbase receives a token for your professional account. A linked Facebook Page is not required.

What each permission is for

  • instagram_business_basic Read your account, so the Connection names the profile it is linked to. Instagram requires it for every other call.
  • instagram_business_content_publish Publish the post you approved, at the time you approved.
  • instagram_business_manage_insights Read results for the posts Selfbase published.

We do not ask for messaging, comment management, or anything to do with ads. Nothing is ever added to your content: no watermark, no mention of Selfbase, no injected link.

How your credentials are held

Your credential is encrypted with a key that belongs to your workspace and stored as ciphertext. It is decrypted only at the moment it is used, and never inside a sandbox where code runs. We never log it.

Removing it

Disconnect under Workspace settings, then Connections, which deletes our copy of the token. Instagram gives an app no way to revoke its own access, so finish in the Instagram app under Settings, then Apps and websites.

To have everything Selfbase holds about you deleted, see data deletion.
